Approximately 1,000 high students are expected to attend our 2nd Student Leadership Series event held this academic year at Lincoln West High School in Cleveland, OH. The program, scheduled for April 20, will include a nationally prominent motivational speaker as well as two breakout sessions focusing on college readiness and leadership skills development.
The featured speaker at the Cleveland event will be Ernesto Mejia from Chicago, IL. Conducting the breakout sessions will be Joey Negron from Reading, PA. and Shani Garza from Chicago, IL. All are among the top speakers and presenters in the nation.

USHLI will be partnering, for the first time, with Advocates for Latino Student Advancement in Michigan Education (ALSAME) which is a statewide coalition of university staff and administrators in Michigan. The event will be held in Big Rapids at Ferris State University. This event, also scheduled for April 20th, is hosted by a different university each year, attracting hundreds of high school students from around the state. An estimated 500 students are expected to attend.
The featured speaker at the Big Rapids event will be Roy Juarez, Jr. from Las Vegas, NV. A leadership development workshop will be conducted by Marcos Popovich, Esq., Director of Operations at USHLI.
