Helio Castroneves and Jimmy Cabrera Headline Student Leadership Series in Atlanta  

   

USHLI, the nation's premier organization training 21st century leaders, is partnering with the Latin American Association in bringing over 1,500 middle school, high school, and college students together in Atlanta for the 12th Annual Latino Youth Leadership Conference on Saturday, November 5.  The event will be held at Emory University Main Campus.

Jimmy Cabrera, one of the most dynamic motivational speakers in the nation, will be the keynote speaker at the opening session on Saturday morning in the Woodruff Physical Education Center.  He has addressed over 1.5 million students and is rated among the top three motivational speakers in the nation by MarketData Enterprises.

  

Northeast SpeakersRace car driver Helio Castroneves will be a featured speaker during the opening session.  As one of the most popular personalities in all of sports, he is the only active driver to have won the Indianapolis 500 three times.  His championship talents are not limited to driving race cars.  Castroneves recently won the "Dancing with the Stars" competition.  His book, Victory Road, chronicles his rise to stardom.

  

In addition to these very talented speakers, the conference will include a series of free workshops for middle and high school students focused on educational opportunities, leadership development, and overcoming challenges that impact Latino students.  Students will also be able to meet with recruiters representing all levels of post-secondary education or training and the military.

  

USHLI will also offer a series of workshops that will enable college student leaders to obtain information pertaining to graduate school programs, internships, and possible employment opportunities, and learn more about making good choices pertaining to personal and professional growth, career path, and public or community service.

  

Northeast SpeakersUSHLI and the NFL Players Association will close the program with Dr. Andrade, USHLI President, focusing his remarks on four critical elements of financial literacy - personal reputation, education, creditworthiness, and community involvement.  USHLI will also provide complimentary CDs containing a list of scholarships available for Latino students who are citizens, legal residents, or undocumented, as well as information on what students need to know about post-secondary education or training and financial literacy.
