USHLI, the nation's premier organization training 21st century leaders, is partnering with Purdue University Calumet in bringing hundreds of high school students from Northwest Indiana together in Hammond on Friday, November 4, for its annual Career Day. The event, an integral part of our 2011 Student Leadership Series (SLS), is being held at Purdue University Calumet. The theme is "Hacia Metas Mas Altas" or "Reaching for Higher Ground."
Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch, one of the most highly regarded motivational speakers in the nation, will address the students attending the Career Day at 9:00am and will be introduced by Chancellor Thomas Keon. The event will be held at the University's Student Union and Library.
The Career Day, which will begin with registration at 8:00am and conclude at 1:30pm, will include breakout sessions on financial aid, college entrance requirements, and the various degree programs offered by Purdue Calumet and other universities. Admission is free and a light complimentary lunch will be provided.
Dr. Juan Andrade, USHLI President, will be the closing speaker and will focus on four critical elements of financial literacy - personal reputation, education, creditworthiness, and community involvement.
