The following is a brief analysis of information provided by the Congressional Budget Office pertaining to the DREAM Act, which you will surely find useful, courtesy of NALEO.  Again, please call your Senators and House member.  The opposition is fighting us tooth and nail and this is a fight that we cannot afford to lose.  While a  loss would be bad for our community, it would be worse for the nation.

Reduce the Deficit by $1.4 Billion: Tell Congress to Pass the DREAM Act

As supporters of the DREAM Act, we know that there is a benefit in providing educational and military opportunities to students. A recent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report confirms that passage of the DREAM Act provides a much-needed boost to the economy. The CBO estimates that the DREAM Act will increase revenue by $2.3 billion and slashes the deficit by $1.4 billion over the next ten years.

In a ten-year time span this bill will create a better-educated workforce that improves the economic stability of the country and prepares the next generation of teachers, soldiers, business owners and inventors to compete in the global economy.  The CBO's analysis assures that the students would not be a public charge.

We have long known that passage of the DREAM Act will benefit our community, national security and the economy; and now we have proof that allowing these students to become full members of the society they've long called home is fiscally responsible and will bolster the nation's economy.

We need your help to educate Congress and the Senate on the financial benefits of the DREAM Act.
