USHLI Announces Honorees Jaramillo and Vella |
USHLI will again give special recognition to some truly outstanding members of the Latino leadership community. Receiving our Cesar Chavez Community Service Award will be Maria Rita Jaramillo who has had a very distinguished career that has included public service as a former chief of staff to a congressman, service in the management of four federal agencies, service in the Office of White House Personnel, and more recently as the Senior Liaison at the National Education Association where she is responsible for Community Outreach in the Office of Governance and Policy.
USHLI's Corporate Visionary Award will be presented to Jim Vella and the Ford Motor Company for the company's time-honored tradition of investing time, energy and resources in the cultivation of the next generation of our nation's leaders. The company's support of USHLI has enabled us to serve over 250,000 present and future leaders and has set a high standard in corporate responsibility, fiscal accountability, product design, and customer service. And Jim has personally served as a role model for many of our young people and as a generous mentor to many young professionals.
