USHLI National Conference Planning Committee Meeting |

|
USHLI started receiving ideas and workshop proposals four months ago for our 2010 national conference. Last month a small group of USHLI conference veterans met to propose additional workshops, flesh out forums on current issues, and choose a theme. The end result was a very strong conference program that will feature speakers who will be addressing our conference for the first time, a fresh injection of social activism, a Job Fair, and a career track for young professionals. | |
USHLI President in Atlanta, Omaha and at McDonald's |
Dr. Juan Andrade was the featured speaker at 10 major events during Hispanic Heritage Month, including speeches on Latino culture and business at McDonald's, on the social, economic and political implications of Latino population growth to political and civic leaders in Atlanta, and on leadership to corporate and community leaders in Omaha.

Thought for the Week |
"I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and willingly accepts the penalty by staying in jail in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the very highest respect for the law."
-Martin Luther King, Jr., "Letter from Birmingham Jail"
