It's time to start working together
for our children.

Rally for Respect.

Teachers and parents are partners in working toward the shared goal of ensuring that students succeed in school and in life. Teachers need resources, support and a fair evaluation system that provides feedback and encourages excellence in classroom practice. Let's work together to make good teachers better and better teachers great.

It's time for all members of the education team-parents, students, teachers, school employees and administrators-to work together. It's time to demand respect and accountability from school administrators and city officials.

The well-being of our children, not the city budget, is the bottom line. Cutting resources from schools and classrooms is not the answer. Losing good teachers will hurt our children.

X Increased class sizes. The number of students in a classroom could double-from 20 to 40 students. That means less one-on-one instruction.
X Disruptions in learning. DCPS Chancellor Michelle Rhee's decision to lay off classroom teachers and school employees was made six weeks after the new school year started.
X Decreased safety and discipline. With fewer teachers and school staff, it will be more difficult to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.

Take a stand on what's good for students and fair to teachers.

Respect for students and parents.
Respect for teachers and school employees.
Respect for education.
