Latino Youth Could Decide the Nation's Future
Over half of all Latino votes cast in the 2008 presidential primaries came from Latino youth, and the Latino youth vote could prove decisive in the November 4 General Election. Our 2008 Midwest Hispanic Student Leadership Conference (MHSLC) will celebrate the importance of the Latino youth vote, offer leadership skills development workshops, and include exhibitors interested in recruiting Latino youth.

Representatives of the campaigns of Barack Obama and John McCain are expected to address the MHSLC on September 27 in Chicago. Participants will be urged to make a final push in the remaining days before the deadline to register more students and non-students to vote, and help get-out-the-vote.

Lorena GonzalezDr. Lorena Gonzalez, a strong advocate for better schools, parental and family leadership, and greater access to educational opportunities will be our keynote speaker. Dr. Juan Andrade will conduct a PowerPoint presentation on Latino demographics. A number of experts will conduct our leadership skills development workshops.

Latino youth could decide the nation's future. Join hundreds of students representing over 100 colleges and universities at our annual Midwest Hispanic Student Leadership Conference and learn why Latino youth are so important to our nation's future.
