Hello again!

The FIUTS staff and student facilitators are preparing for your arrival and looking forward to welcoming you next month! 
Read below for details about the FIUTS Orientation Program.
Orientation Schedule
FIUTS Orientation is designed to introduce you to the UW and help you get acquainted with other students and the Seattle area. We recommend that you arrive in Seattle by March 21st or March 22nd in order to participate in Orientation.  

Friday, March 23rd
Exchange Student Session  
2-2:30pm, Schmitz Hall Room 490 

International Student Services (ISS) Session
2:30-3:20pm, Schmitz Hall Room 490 

Orientation: Official Welcome to the University
3:30-5pm, Odegaard Undergraduate Library Room 220

 

Campus Tour and Dinner with Current Students
5-7:30pm, leave from Orientation

Following a campus tour, join current students for dinner and conversation at a local restaurant in the University District. Family members and friends are welcome to attend. Bring $10-15 for dinner.

Saturday, March 24th
Seattle Scavenger Hunt
Explore Seattle neighborhoods! We'll divide you into teams and give you clues that will lead you to landmarks, shops, and more! Visit the Space Needle for a beautiful evening view of the city, and explore the famous Pike Place Market for dinner and sightseeing in America's oldest public market. Bring U-PASS, comfortable shoes, $18 for Space Needle entrance, and spending money for food.
Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe at 12pm  
  
Sunday, March 25th
Greenlake Walking Tour and Mini Golf
Spend an afternoon exploring the Greenlake neighborhood, a beautiful urban lake surrounded by a walking path, restaurants, coffeeshops and more just a short bus ride from campus. Go mini golfing at the Greenlake Pitch and Putt, or if the weather is rainy we'll head inside for all-ages happy hour! Bring money for food and activities.
Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe at 12pm
  
Wednesday, March 28th
Wednesday Lunch
A popular FIUTS tradition, Wednesday Lunch is a free lunch held each month. It is a great place to see friends and meet new ones! All UW students, staff, and Seattle community members are welcome to attend.
Meeting Place: Kane Hall Walker-Ames Room, 11:30am-1:30pm

mariners group smallAfter Orientation, FIUTS events help you stay connected with students and community members while exploring our beautiful region. Join us for sports games, arts events, weekend trips to other cities, Global Gala, and more!
Don't forget that the deadline to apply for a week-long FIUTS homestay is Monday, February 27th! As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
