Hello again!

The FIUTS staff and student facilitators are preparing for your arrival and look forward to welcoming you to campus soon!  Read below for details about the FIUTS Orientation Program.
Orientation Schedule
FIUTS Orientation is designed to introduce you to the UW and help you get acquainted with other students and the Seattle area.

Tuesday, January 3rd (First Day of Classes)
International Programs and Exchanges Student Session
(IP&E Students only)
2:30-3:30pm, Odegaard Undergraduate Library Room 220

Campus Tour with Current Students
3:30-4:30pm, Meet at Odegaard Undergraduate Library Room 220
 
Orientation: Official Welcome to the University
4:30-6pm, Odegaard Undergraduate Library Room 220

Hear speakers on a variety of important topics including campus resources and visa information from the International Student Services (ISS) office.

 

Dinner in the University District

6-7pm, Location TBA

Join current students and FIUTS staff for dinner in the University District. Family members and friends are welcome to attend. Bring $10-15 for dinner.


Wednesday, January 4th
Wednesday Lunch, 11:30am-1:30pm, Kane Hall Walker Ames Room
Join FIUTS students, community members, and friends for a monthly free lunch!  Drop by to make your own sandwich and meet the UW international community.

Thursday, January 5th
All-Ages Happy Hour, 3-5pm
Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe at 3pm

Saturday, January 7th
Seattle Scavenger Hunt
Explore Seattle neighborhoods! We'll divide you into small groups and give you clues that will lead you to landmarks, shops and more! Then we'll meet at famous Pike Place Market for dinner and sightseeing in America's oldest public market. Finally, head to the Space Needle for beautiful night views of the city. Bring U-pass, comfortable shoes, $18 for the space needle entrance, plus spending money for food.
Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe at 12pm

Sunday, January 8th
Ice Skating at Bellevue Square
Take the bus across Lake Washington to the city of Bellevue for an afternoon of ice skating and dinner at beautiful Bellevue Square! Bring money for ice skating and food.
Meet at the Burke Museum Cafe at 12pm
Winter Quarter Events and Activities
 
mariners group smallAfter Orientation, FIUTS events help you stay connected with students and community members while exploring our beautiful region. Join us for CulturalFest, a long weekend trip to Portland, square dancing, an all-ages pub quiz, and much more!
Don't forget that the deadline to apply for a week-long FIUTS homestay is Monday, November 29th! As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
