Next week, FIUTS will celebrate 60 years at the
University of Washington and look towards the
future of our programs. Over the past 60 years, the
world has seen dramatic changes, but FIUTS' vision
for a more peaceful world based on friendship and
understanding remains strong.
Take a look at some of the more interesting
photographs and documents from our first 60 years
on our new history pages - and please send along
copies of any items you'd like to add to our collection!

The FIUTS Student Board is busy confirming country
booths for the
Wednesday Lunch CulturalFest. More than 30
countries will be represented, including Afghanistan,
France, China, Yemen, Poland, and more! Circle the
globe in just a couple of hours.
CulturalFest and Wednesday Lunch are free and open
to everyone, so please join us and bring your family!
The 60th Anniversary
Opening Reception at The Museum of History and
Industry
will be a wonderful opportunity to reunite with
friends. Enjoy wine and
appetizers from Ravishing Radish Catering, and
celebrate the vitality that international students bring to
our campus and region.

Stop by the FIUTS office and share a cup of coffee with
the FIUTS staff and students - we'll have treats in the
office all day!
At 5 pm, head over to Pub Quiz -
an evening of international trivia at the Irish Emigrant
Pub. Join a team and test your knowledge of trivia and
current events!

On Friday evening, the students take the stage at the
CulturalFest Performances.
Student groups and
visiting artists from around the globe will present
traditional and modern performances. The
performances will take place at the Ethnic Cultural
Center Theatre, near the UW campus.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration will culminate in a
Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday night at
Ocean City Restaurant in Seattle's International
District. Attend this event and help to launch FIUTS
towards another generation of peace and cross-
cultural understanding.
The event will feature a wonderful Chinese
dinner, the presentation of FIUTS' annual awards, and
musical performances. Raj Manhas, FIUTS Alumnus
and former Superintendant of Seattle Public Schools
will give the keynote address.
Bring your checkbook to bid on
these wonderful silent auction items from near and far!
New items are being added every day, so check
back often!
