Women's Health & Hormones
The recent National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey reported that nearly half of postmenopausal women in the U.S. have used hormone replacement therapy at some time, and over 1/3 of those have been on oral pills for more than 10 years. These numbers are staggering when you take into consideration the increased risk for heart attack, stroke, blood clots, breast cancer, dementia with hormone therapy. The good news is that there are other alternatives available for women.

nutritionPresented by F. Matt Brown Jr., M.D.
You are invited to attend a free Health Education Lecture on Friday, October 10 - 7:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn (9315 Statesville Rd., Exit 18 off of I-77).

Dr. Brown will speak on the power of nutrition in preventing disease; lowering the risk of heart disease, and slowing the aging process.  When Dr. Brown speaks, people listen!  No doubt, you will be touched both by the message Dr. Brown shares and by his conviction and passion for making a difference.

Salmon Frittata Recipe
smoked salmon frittata
This hearty, Italian-style dish makes a great group breakfast or brunch, especially on a cool day.

Of course, you can add chopped or diced veggies - as well as herb and spices - to taste.

In Mediterranean countries, frittata are often served at room temperature, which makes them perfect do-ahead dishes.

They'll keep in the refrigerator for a few days, and provide terrific lunchbox fare.
