In Defense of Food "Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants"
|
|
Dr. Michael Smith
In Defense of Food: An Eater's
Manifesto has been my latest book to read. It
does a great job of answering the question: "What
should we eat?" Michael Pollan is an excellent writer
and has presented an approach to eating that is
simple to follow and one that I can fully endorse!
I also highly recommend his previous book
The Omnivore's Dilemma: A
Natural History of Four Meals .
... from the Book Jacket ... In Defense of Food: An Eater's
Manifesto shows us despite the daunting
dietary landscape Americans confront in the modern
supermarket, we can escape the Western diet and,
by doing so, most of the chronic diseases that diet
causes. We can relearn which foods are healthy,
develop simple ways to moderate our appetites, and
return eating to its proper context - out of the car and
back to the table.
Michael Pollan's bracing
and
eloquent manifesto shows us how we can make
thoughtful food choices that will enrich our lives,
enlarge our sense of what it means to be healthy, and
bring pleasure back to eating.

Thai Yoga Massage - Win $25 OFF
|

Treat yourself or your loved one this Valentine's Day
Traditional Thai massage has
been practiced for
more than 1000 years.
It's often referred to
as "lazy man's yoga" as it is a fusion of
techniques providing muscle manipulation, twisting
and deep stretching. These techniques facilitate and
stimulate the flow of the body's intrinsic energy. When
you receive Thai massage you will experience
flexibility, relaxation and peace of mind.
