RIZ - The Nutcracker A holiday tradition! This year RIZ skaters will be performing the Nutcracker! We are very excited to bring this traditional story to the ice! Skaters can still sign up! Rehearsals are Mondays, 4:30 - 5:30pm. Email Gaby if you have questions or would like to sign up.
SNP - Holiday on Ice
SkateNation Plus will once again bring the holidays to the ice! Rehearsals start on Saturday, Oct. 10, 10:00 - 10:50am. Email Olga if you would like to sign up or have questions.

Holiday Mini Camps at the Ice Zone & SkateNation Plus
Learn the basics of ice skating in this three day camp!
RIZ: December 21 - 23
SNP: December 28 - 30
Both camps are 9:00am - Noon
$89 per skater
Holiday Ice Skating Party at the Ice Zone
Get your tickets early for this very popular party! A lucky guest will take home an American Girl doll! Cake & lemonade will be served as our guests watch a fashion show of beautiful skating dresses and costumes. Guests will then be treated to an exhibition and then everyone will take to the ice for a beginner ice skating lesson!

Basic Skills Classes - Weekly classes run all year long at the Ice Zone & SkateNation Plus! Continue working on your skills or join for the first time!
Frosty Tots (RIZ) - The Ice Zone's class for Pre Schoolers. Skaters will learn basic skills for fun and safety using games, toys and finger paint! Click here for more information.

Backward Swizzles
Going backwards is fun and useful for many skills in both figure skating and hockey!
A few tips to help you go faster:
1) Keep your body up straight and look up
2) Bend your knees as you start each swizzle (toes in) and raise to slightly bent knees as you complete each swizzle (toes out).
3) Pull your feet parallel into a two foot glide position between swizzles.
4) If you hear or feel your toepicks scratching, check your form, either your knees are not bent or you are leaning forward (or both).
