They've become great friends and Noah is finding that being a "Big" is not only rewarding, but a whole lot of fun! What he didn't expect is that he's learning a lot from his "Little Brother" Trevor!
Big Brothers Big Sisters needs volunteers for waiting list children in El Dorado Hills and the surrounding communities. Currently, there are over 50 mentoring relationships that are active in the El Dorado Hills area. Here's the story of one waiting-list Little Brother:
Chad (fictitious name), along with his sister and mom, recently moved to an affordable housing unit from their home in a nice subdivision. The transition of their parents divorcing and having to downsize to a small apartment is hard for the kids to understand. School has been a struggle for both children and it's been difficult to make new friends. Chad, age 10, desperately wants a Big Brother to spend time with him, since his dad moved out of state and is no longer in his life. He loves sports and outdoor activities and wants a "Big" to hang out with once a week.

On Wednesday April 7, County officials and regional business professionals will take part in a walking tour of businesses in El Dorado Hills. Tour participants are looking to gain valuable feedback on what organizations like about doing business in El Dorado Hills, as well as areas for improvement. When we stop by, please take a few minutes to share your thoughts.
