Hank's Thoughts
One of my favorite authors was literate, famous, beloved, but yet involved in a steamy senior affair:
Mark Twain,
the famous author of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of
Tom Sawyer, was born in 1835 and died in 1910.
But did you know he had a secret
that is only now going to be revealed - in November of 2010?
Not long
before his passing in 1910 Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne
Clemens) penned a 5,000-page autobiography. But he left strict instructions
that the book was not to be published until 100 years after he was buried!
Twain's estate has now given permission to publish the autobiography. It's scheduled to
hit bookstores in November.
It's purported to expose Twain's views on religion,
politics, and a steamy affair he had with his secretary during the final years
of his life.

What's Happening Re: E-Book Readers?
Some 11 million Americans are expected to own at least one
digital reading gadget by the end of September according to Forrester Research. U.S.
e-book sales grew 183% in the first half of this year compared with the year-earlier
period, according to the Association of American Publishers.
Another study of 1,200 E-Book reader owners by Marketing and Research
Resources Inc. found that 40% said they now read more than they did with print
books. Of those surveyed, 58% said they read about the same as before while 2%
said they read less than before. E-books aren't replacing their old book habits, but adding
to them. Amazon, the biggest seller of e-books, says its customers are buying 3.3
times as many books after buying a Kindle. This figure has accelerated in the
past year as prices for the device fell. E-book reader gadgets are portable. People report they are reading at times when a printed book isn't normally an
option, and they are reading more in general.
Existing books or new books can be published as E-Books as well as conventionally printed hard cover or paperback. The publishers are now offering to convert books into talking books, so the whole family of a new book can include all the above. ____________________________________________________________________________

It's
Not What You Say,
It's What They Hear or Read That Matters
Fifteen years from now, we may find it incredible to think that a business
could thrive without leveraging the power of social networks. We know that most
businesses today cannot succeed without email, but lookout -- the social media
craze is mushrooming, with mixed results. Millions of people now are using
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs and other "social media" to get their
thoughts and messages across to a broad audience.
Everyone figures out that there are no barriers of entry,
and social media promotion quickly turns into a massive spam machine. There are
so many social messages going out daily through various media, that folks are
beginning to feel overwhelmed, and they are tuning out and opting out. This is a sigalert to business managers. They want to get
their message out -- not get tuned out. What can we do about this dilemma? Click here for the answer .......

Betcha' Didn't Know...
King
Ranch in South Texas is larger than Rhode Island. The name 'Texas' comes from the Hasini Indian word 'tejas'
meaning friends. Tejas is not Spanish for Texas.
Generation "Y" Americans now
outnumber Baby Boomers in the workforce. (The rest of the world is getting older, but you and I are not, of course!)
