The Children's School faculty visited the Getty Museum in Los Angeles this past Friday for professional development day. From medieval illuminated manuscripts to Impressionist painters and the drawings of Maria Sybilla Merian (the Science Clubhouse Great Artist this year) TCS teachers learned about the artists our students will study and much, much more. A highlight of the trip was touring the Central Garden (pictured above) which was designed by Robert Irwin, a former TCS parent who will be the Great Artist for the sixth grade class this year.

Special Inauguration Community Meeting
Join us Tuesday morning as we celebrate a historic occasion, the inauguration of the first African-American President of the United States. We would like to make this an event to remember for your children by gathering in the auditorium to watch the inauguration at a special community meeting for students in first grade and up.

On Tuesday, January 20 beginning at 8:00AM, we will follow live coverage of the presidential inauguration on the big screen in the auditorium. For families arriving after 8:00AM, we ask that you come to the auditorium and quietly drop off your children. Of course, parents are also invited to join us for the ceremony.
