Fall Newsletter 2011 |
A Message From Your ACHE of Massachusetts President
Dear ACHE of Massachusetts Members,
On November 8th we will host our Fall Conference "The Rapidly Changing Healthcare Environment: Provider Consolidations, Mergers, and Acquisitions." We have 300 people registered due to the critically important nature of the topics and speakers.
The Annual Meeting of ACHE of Massachusetts will also be held during the Fall Conference. The Nominating Committee will be submitting a slate of officers for a vote by the membership at the meeting. The elected officers will assume a two year term as of January 1, 2012.
Jack Bailey, FACHE has initiated the first Board of Governor's Exam Review Sessions for ACHE of MA. The cycle is ten weeks long and each week a one-hour review is conducted on one of the ten knowledge content areas of the exam.
Congratulations to our members Alan Goldberg, FACHE and Shari Robbins of AMS for the recent article they co-authored in the Sept/Oct issue of ACHE's The Journal of Healthcare Management entitled "Portion Control Opportunities: Real Time Gains for the Hospital Patient Throughput."
I hope that you can join us at an upcoming event.
William P. Fleming, FACHE ACHE of Massachusetts, President |

Thank You Andrea Paciello, FACHE
Andrea Paciello, FACHE, ACHE Regent for Massachusetts, will be completing her term in December 2011. For the past three years she has served ACHE of Massachusetts unselfishly leading our Chapter to a higher level of performance.
She has been an advocate for our Chapter at the National level and in turn, has more closely aligned our Chapter with our national colleagues.
Locally, Andrea has been the key driver in our Chapter developing formal relationships with four University Programs in Healthcare Administration. She has also been a tremendous influence in encouraging members to advance their careers in healthcare management by advancing to Fellow status.
We are all very grateful for the contributions Andrea has made to ACHE of Massachusetts, and to the College. Andrea, we all wish you continued success in your healthcare management career. |

NEW Online Postgraduate Fellowship Area
ACHE has a New Online Postgraduate Fellowship Area. Give back to the field by offering a postgraduate fellowship in your organization. The new Postgraduate Fellowship Area on www.ache.org gives healthcare leaders the resources and tools they need to design and post a postgraduate fellowship, attract qualified candidates and develop future leaders. The site includes information related to formatting a fellowship, compensation and benefits, recruiting, onboarding and assessing the fellow. Organizations may also post their postgraduate fellowship on ACHE's online Directory of Postgraduate Administrative Fellowships.
Visitors are now directed to choose from three categories: Students looking for postgraduate fellowship listings, organizations seeking information on how to create a postgraduate fellowship, and organizations that wish to post a postgraduate fellowship. For information see www.ache.org/Postgrad.
