Legal issues can be daunting for public artists. That is why NEFA asked Jim Grace, executive director of the  Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston, to give a workshop on legal processes in public art.

Join us Thursday, March 29, for Negotiations, Copyright and Contracts with Jim Grace, and come away with:

  • Important keys to effective negotiation for artists and organizations
  • Clear explanations of copyright laws - how to protect yourself and others
  • Hands-on practice with contracts

(Space is limited and the event is almost full! We will have a wait list.)

FUND FOR THE ARTS UPDATE

The Fund for the Arts, recognizing the unique opportunity to impact contemporary public art in Boston, has awarded a grant to the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Conservancy to support a public art planning process.

"...the Greenway is becoming a place where residents, visitors, and workers are happy to mingle together. Contemporary art will enhance these uses." Dr. Ted Landsmark, NEFA Board member and Fund for the Arts Advisor

Learn how you can be a part of the Greenway public art planning process.

If you have a current public art project that you would like Fund for the Arts to be aware of, please email a brief description to publicart@nefa.org.

STILL HAVE MATERIALS ON YOUR MIND?

Spurred by your feedback and requests, NEFA videotaped two recent Public Art Discussion Series. If you could not make it to "Materials Mania" and want to learn about how to use plastic molds, glass and mosaics then check out our YouTube channel for videos of the presentations.
