Did You Know? The Bible often uses animals to illustrate a truth about our natural, earthly life. Did You Know? The horse is mentioned more than 375 times in scripture, and is used more than any other animal to teach principles of biblical faith. Did You Know? The language of the horse is called Equus. The language of God is called Faith. Susan Klaudt uses horses and the language of Equus to teach the language of Faith. Now You Know!

Box 4994 Cleveland, TN 37320 What is Susan Klaudt Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship? NHF is the realization of a remarkable vision and dream the Lord placed in my heart many years ago to use horses to visually teach biblical principles of faith. Now, after more than three decades of pulpit ministry, and countless miles traveling and doing cowboy churches, my horses and I have taken a new trail, and have entered the world of cyber space! Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship is based on 3 simple and easy to understand Bible based principles. Everything that I teach in NHF falls under the heading of one of these principles: Purpose, Power, and Partnership 1. PURPOSE - You were born for Purpose - God's Purpose. 2. POWER - You have been given Power - a delegated power that has been given to you through the name of Jesus Christ. 3. PARTNERSHIP - You are created for Partnership - partnership with God who created you for His pleasure, and for His purpose.
"But ask the animals and they will teach you..." (Job 12: 7) As a minister of the gospel, and a horse owner for many years, I know that there is no better animal to visually demonstrate and help teach Bible-based truths than the natural horse. The horse is a large prey animal who is instinctive and reactive by nature, and hard-wired for survival. However, with proper training, and knowledge, he is capable of learning that the source of his power is not in his size, his speed, or his prey instincts. The true source of the horse's power lies in the gentle and guiding hand of his master in partnership. It is a privilege for me to share my life with God's marvelous creation, the horse. Together, we are partners in life, and in ministry. Through the humble efforts of Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship, it is my sincere hope that you will be blessed, your faith strengthened, and you will discover God's wonderful purpose and plan for your life.

Way More Than Horsepower!
Second only to a well built horse, nothing grabs the heartstrings of a horse lovin' woman like a good-looking 4x4 truck with deep leather interior, and lots of chrome!
Recently, my husband, Kim, and I went to a dealership to look at some new trucks. Our old truck has seen better days, and with nearly 100,000 miles on it, we thought this might be a good time to start looking. Now, I know some women must think truck hunting is boring. They'd probably prefer getting a pedicure, or shopping at the mall. But not us horsey gals. Second only to a well built horse, nothing grabs the heartstrings of a horse lovin' woman like a good-looking 4X4 truck with deep leather interior, and lots of chrome!
Alright, before I go any further with my truck story, let's talk. My hubby and I will celebrate more than three decades of marriage this year. It's hard to be married that long and not learn a thing or two about eachother. One of the things I've learned about my better half is that he's a closet professor. He absolutely loves to teach me new "stuff", and no matter what we're doing, he considers it one more opportunity to enlighten me. Over the years, I've learned to appreciate the value of being attentive during these unsolicited and impromptu classroom sessions, knowing that if I listen well, it just might pay nice dividends down the road. Can I get an Amen, girls?
So, what has my husband learned about me over the years? For one, he's learned that when I'm shopping for a truck, the most important thing to me is not under the hood. I figure it's his job to inspect all those metal thingys. My job requires much more sensitivity, and an eye towards color. The truck's exterior should be black, or white with taupe or beige trim, in order to match well with my horse's color, and of course, the interior must be leather, and go well with my boots. Ladies, can I get a witness? Sadly, I must report that during our truck search, Kim completely disregarded my sensitive and discriminatory taste in truck colors, and felt it more important that I understand the history of Horsepower. Alas, that bit of knowledge is about all I took home from the dealership. However, I have decided which truck we'll be getting in the future. For those who are following closely, please note the subtle shift of power! And yes, it will be a perfect color match for my equine partners. Now that's what I call real Horsepower!

HorsePower 101
So lets take a look at what I learned from Professor Kim. The term Horsepower was invented by a man named James Watt. I think he also had something to do with light bulbs. Anyhow, Mr. Watt lived from 1736 to 1819, and was most famous for his work on improving the performance of steam engines. One day Mr. Watt was working with some ponies lifting coal at a coal mine. While having a conversation with someone (obviously not a woman), he suddenly realized the importance of finding a way to talk about the power available from one of these animals. Now, if I had been there, I would have simply said, "Wow, those ponies sure are strong!" And that would have been enough. But Mr Watt, being a man, needed to express himself in numbers and ratios so that other men could understand. After much contemplation, Mr. Watt discovered that, on average, a coal mine pony could do 22,000 foot-pounds of work in a minute. Legend has it that he then increased that number by 50 percent, therefore pegging the measurement of horsepower at 33,000 foot-pounds of work per minute. Mr. Watt's miraculous unit of measurement has now made it's way down through the centuries, and it's everywhere today, appearing on your truck, your lawn mower, and sometimes it even ends up on your vacuum cleaner. Hmmmm, this is absolutely amazing! But I have one question. "What color were those ponies?" |
Webster's Dictionary defines the word Power as "a position of authority". When we think of power as a position, instead of an inherent trait of strength, it changes our understanding of the word.
Now that we understand a little about power from a horse perspective, let's look at it from God's point of view.
As Christians, it's important that we understand the real meaning of the word - Power. I will be sharing with you in future newsletters about the various kinds of power that we have been given. But for now, let's simply start with a definition of the word. Webster's dictionary defines the word power as being "a position of authority", and not an inherent trait of strength.
The following scriptures tell us definitively that Jesus Christ was, is, and will always be in "a position of authority". There are times when we all feel weak, and inadequate in our own strength and abilities. But the Bible makes clear that we have a higher authority than ourselves, and in Him we find the true meaning of power.
"In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him."
(John 1: 1-3)
"And the Word became flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
(John 1: 14)
"I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me (Jesus)."
(John 14: 6)

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
(Philippians 4: 13)
When someone is in a true position of authority, they can delegate (entrust) power to others. When we accept Christ by faith, not only do we become heirs with Him, but we recieve His delegated power that enables us to go beyond that which was only possible in the natural. Now we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
Christ Is Our Power Source
In this newsletter, we've done our groundwork, and learned that Christ is our power source. In future newsletters, we'll explore more about delegated power - the power that has been given to you and me through Christ. So saddle up, tighten your cinch, and get ready to learn what real power is all about!

If you're ready for the faith ride of your life, I invite you to pray this prayer with me.
"Lord, I believe that all power and all authority has been given to you. And I believe you are in a position to delegate authority to me. Thank you for giving me power - power in my mouth, power to achieve my dreams, power to overcome obstacles, power over the enemy, and power through my partnership with you. I confess that I have power through Christ to overcome any obstacle that would prevent me from attaining my highest purpose in life. I believe that I can do all things through Christ because you are my strength, my rock, my refuge, and my high tower. You, Lord, are the Christ, the son of the living God, and you, Lord, are my strength."
