2011 Russell Berrie Fellows Announced

  

 

IIE is pleased to announce that the Russell Berrie Fellowship in Interreligious Studies has selected its fourth group of fellows in Interreligious Studies.

 

The Russell Berrie Fellows for 2011 are:

 

Fr. Celestine Ezemadubom (Nigeria) 

Renata Nehring (Poland)

Fr. Anthony Okolo (Nigeria)

Fr. Luis Omojola (Nigeria)

Fr. Xavier Kanat Ouseph (India)

Sr. Theresa Piacentini (Italy)

Omar Sillah (Gambia)

Fr. Cyrille Uwizeye (Rwanda)

Fr. Marco Valentini (Italy)

Joseph Zwosta (USA)  

 

Beginning this semester at the start of their fall studies at the Angelicum, these eleven fellows will be given an award of €7250 that is intended to cover tuition, a living stipend, examination fees, a book allowance, and travel to and from the fellow's home country once a year. This award is renewed quarterly until completion of their degree at Angelicum, up to two years for a total of €29,000. 

 

The goal of the Fellowship Program is to build bridges between Catholic, Jewish, and other religious traditions by providing the next generation of religious leaders with a comprehensive understanding of and dedication to inter-faith issues. Russell Berrie Fellows are expected to complete the program and return home to their parishes and communities to lead others in efforts to promote inter-faith understanding.

GE Foundation Leadership Development Program

GE LDP2010

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) for this year's winners of the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program in Central-Eastern Europe will take place between July 4-8 in Budapest. 32 winners from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania will come together to attend lectures and seminars on topics such as leadership, social responsibility and entrepreneurship.

As part of the LDP, students will receive guidance and advice from senior management at GE and HR managers on regional cooperation, career building and related topics. in conclusion, the students will take part in an Outward Bound led team building project to strengthen their network and to learn more about their own leadership qualities.
