Russell Berrie Fellowship in Interreligious Studies

The Russell Berrie Fellowship targets priests and lay students focused on interreligious study and research at the Pontifical Unversity St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome. Russell Berrie Fellows are expected to complete their studies and return home to their parishes and communities to lead others in efforts to promote inter-faith understanding.

The award is granted for up to two years and covers tuition, a modest living stipend, examination fees, a modest book allowance, travel to and from the recipient's home country once a year, and participation in a field trip to Israel.

During their studies, the fellows are supported through the John Paul II Center for Interreligious Dialogue at the Angelicum. Its goal is to build bridges between Catholic, Jewish and other religious traditions by providing the next generation of religious leaders with a comprehensive understanding of and dedication to inter-faith issues. The Center hosts the Annual Lecture, a central event created through a partnership between the Russell Berrie Foundation, IIE Europe and the Angelicum.
Fourth Annual Pope John Paul II Lecture on Interreligious Dialogue
