Fellow OAC Members,

This is our first planned trip of the year for OAC. Hopefully
this year we can hold several of these type of events. This is not a tournament, there is no cost to enter, not everyone on your boat has to be a member, just come out and have some fun and start fishing!

What, Where, When & Who

All boats are welcome no matter what the size. We will be fishing, hoop netting, diving, rafting up, and enjoying some good food and drinks.

We will either anchor or pay for a can at Isthmus Cove, on Two Harbors, Catalina Island. Depart when you can but Rickdiculous will be leaving at 12 noon on this Friday the 7th of January and returning Sunday late morning. We will just cruise over at around 10 knots which should put us at the anchorage around 6:30 p.m. So far I have heard from 5 boats, I would like to see more participation. The boats or people that have showed interest about the trip are Rickdiculous, Pacific Venture, Uno Mas Dos Equis, G Nice, Gary Prior and Mark Miller.

Get ready for the Season

Shimano TrinidadIt always amazes me that fishermen and women wait till after the season is here to get there boats and tackle ready. Then they don't like to be told that their boat or reels won't be ready in time for their trip. If you go by any tackle store they are relatively slow during the winter months. They would love to have some extra business during this time to make ends meet until they start getting busy in March or April.  Take your reels in for service or new line NOW and don't wait till the last minute.

Boat haul outs and service yards are unusually slow this time of year. If you take your boat in early, not only will you get your boat looked at and serviced properly, you will probably get a discount for not waiting till the last minute.

We have some great Tackle stores and Custom Reel shops that support this club year after year. Please show them you appreciate their support of the club and get your fishing supplies and reel repaired early this year.
