America the Beautiful
4th of July!
It was another GREAT 4th of July in Newton thanks again to the businesses and organizations that represent the Great Newton Area Chamber of Commerce!  Specifically we'd like to thank Sue Nolin from Great Western Bank for being our 4th of July event chair, and Sue Ely, our administrative assistant at the Chamber of Commerce, who orchestrated the parade registration process.  We are also grateful to the American Legion Post 111, new members of the Chamber, for coordinating the effort to get all of our Jasper County Veterans in the parade. It was a beautiful sight to see all of the Veterans on 1st Avenue as the F-16s from the Iowa Air National Guard did their Flyby!  Thanks as well to Jamie & Jones of Energy 106.7 and Craig Armstrong of the Iowa Speedway for being our parade M.C.'s.

NOTE!! - Dozens of pictures are already posted on our Facebook Page and we will continue to post more in the coming days.  There are some great pictures of our Jasper County Vets as well as Curran and Jane Ann Cotton, our 2012 4th of July Grand Marshalls.  More coming!

LINKS to Business Blogs & Resources
This list changes now and then but these are great resources for anyone running a business or organization, small or large, for profit or not-for-priofit.

Co-author of "The Go-Giver", one of our recommended books.  It's all about doing business with those you know, like and trust.  If you are in sales or want to understand the power of networking, this is a great blog.

If you want to be remarkable, Seth will help you get started.  We recommended his book "The Big Moo" but he has much more to say.  Great for marketing ideas too.

Facebook? Twitter?  You'll find resources, links and articles for all of the all the latest tips and trends in social media.

Why do many small businesses fail?  Michael Gerber wrote a book called the E-Myth (The Entrepreneaur Myth - Voted #1 business book by Inc. 500 CEOs.) to examine that fact, and he's been coaching hundreds ever since.
