Unique Opportunity!!

Jim Collins in Des Moines- Friday June 15th
For the very first time in Iowa history, Jim Collins, renowned author of the international bestseller, "Good to Great" and his new release, "Great by Choice", will speak to the Iowa business community. Collins is the key-note speaker at the Iowa Association of Business and Industry's annual TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS CONFERENCE next week and we're inviting members of Newton Chamber of Commerce to join in what could be a "once in a life-time opportunity".
In addition to hearing Collins' keynote address, attendees may also participate in a session led by Gino Wickman, author of "Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business" and developer of the Entrepreneurial Operating System, a method that helps companies thrive and achieve greatness.
Regular admission for the Friday Morning Sessions (including breakfast) is $79.95 but a special offer is being made to Newton Chamber members at the reduced fee of $49.95. Details on how to sign up are in this FLYER. Use the code "CC12" when your register.

Casey Constable |
Welcome Casey Constable
Casey joined our Chamber leadership team for the summer as a Marketing Intern. Casey is completing her marketing degree at DMACC. Her main focus is to help our Chamber Members in utilizing our new ChamberMaster software. Remember: Every Chamber Member now has a FULL PAGE of information about their business or organization on our website as well as on the new Mobile App! Our goal is to make sure that your page accurately reflects and promotes your business or organization. If you receive a phone call from Casey, please welcome her to Newton and look forward to her showing you more about ChamberMaster and the new opportunities we have to promote our Chamber Members. (NOTE: When you see a Chamber Member mentioned in an E-Blast, their name will often LINK to their profile page!) Here are a few samples of some completed member profile pages.

This list changes now and then but these are great resources for anyone running a business or organization, small or large, for profit or not-for-priofit.
Co-author of "The Go-Giver", one of our recommended books. It's all about doing business with those you know, like and trust. If you are in sales or want to understand the power of networking, this is a great blog.
If you want to be remarkable, Seth will help you get started. We recommended his book "The Big Moo" but he has much more to say. Great for marketing ideas too.
Facebook? Twitter? You'll find resources, links and articles for all of the all the latest tips and trends in social media.
Why do many small businesses fail? Michael Gerber wrote a book called the E-Myth (The Entrepreneaur Myth - Voted #1 business book by Inc. 500 CEOs.) to examine that fact, and he's been coaching hundreds ever since.
