This CLE program is designed for attorneys in all practice areas who are interested in learning about the impact of marriage equality in New York. The discussion will focus on many of the areas potentially impacted by marriage equality in New York, including estate planning, taxation, divorce/dissolution, pre-nups & post-nups, and adoption/second-parent adoption.

The program will explore what we know and what we don't know in the wake of the historic marriage equality victory.

To that end, the discussion will feature Lessons Learned from Massachusetts.  Joyce Kauffman, a Massachusetts-based attorney who has been at the forefront of LGBT family law and who has handled several same sex divorces in MA since the Goodridge decision, will provide insight from the Massachusetts experience and some guidance on what we might expect in New York.
