A young woman from Iowa, pregnant and God-fearing, offers her baby for adoption. Before signing the adoption papers, the couple realizes she doesn't know they're Jewish. Fearing that this may put the adoption in jeopardy, they pose as Lutherans - but how far will they go to have a family?
