 | Centered among our Eagle Scouts is Lou and Tina Salute. |
"It's not the badge you wear, but the life you lead."
Farewell Lou Salute. Thanks for the memories.
It is the end of an era in the Boy Scouts of America. After 37 years of proud service to Scouting, including the last nearly nine years leading the Connecticut Yankee Council, our Scout Executive Lou Salute is retiring.
On behalf of all the volunteers, Scouts, donors, staff and communities served in our Council, we wish Lou and his wife Tina all the best.

Sweet 16 - Qualified Supervision
Every BSA activity should be supervised by a conscientious adult who understands and knowingly accepts responsibility for the well-being and safety of the children and youth in his or her care. The supervisor should be sufficiently trained, experienced and skilled in the activity to be confident of his/her ability to lead and to teach the necessary skills and to respond effectively in the event of an emergency. Field knowledge of all applicable BSA standards and a commitment to implement and follow BSA policies and procedures are essential parts of the supervisor's qualifications.

Eagle Scout Mike Rowe's Remarks
 | Mike Rowe Speaks at Boy Scouts of America National Annual Meeting |
Mike Rowe, host of Dirty Jobs, had a great message for the Boy Scouts. He was recently honored with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award at the National Annual Meeting of the Boy Scouts of America.
Wait until you hear his story about his brother Scott around 15:30. "How was your day?" "... it was pretty interesting. I saved a guy's life. Pass the salt." |
