PROMO COPIES!

Finally! Many of you in RL No.2 are getting or will soon be getting your promo copies.
There are 4-5 parties I need to check addresses, expect a private e-mail.

Feedback continues to be excellent.

No.3 Submissions Deadline

AUGUST 13. AUGUST 13. AUGUST 13.

There are some new people in the mix who need from me FTP info, drop me a line if you need this still.

Unless I otherwise approve an alternate means (Like a service like U-Send It) I am going to begin simply deleting emails with attachments.  It is that out of control.  There's been some people work enough to find an email off the website but don't have the time to look at the page there outlining the submissions policy.

No.3 has a few juicy things going for it.

Momentum
We are growing momentum.  We're enjoying repeat customers as well as adding in new ones.  This is growing. Not out of the woods yet but on a positive track.  I am hoping improvement continues that by issue No.4 or No.5 we will need more copies, when this happens I am pretty sure the wholesale will come down.  Getting that down benefits everyone, it allows the growth to increase in speed, allows more profit for those of you who've done well selling copies at events.

Promotions
Right about the time No.3 hits we'll also be taking part in a contest with Pinup Lifestyle (pinuplifestyle.com).  With this one I think I am going to stick with the initial contest I posed some time ago where the winner gets a cash prize equal to about what most PL contests provide BUT the rest is juicy, the rest is that we provide a pro photo shoot with a Pinup Syndicate photog and then feature an image from that shoot full page in issue No.4 or No.5 depending on timelines, and this is where I pick up the tab on the photo shoot fee... so we end up promoting the mag, the Syndicate, the importance of good photography for publication purposes and other than logistical considerations i.e. some model 12 miles from the nearest Syndicate Photog, should be a pretty notable promotion, should get us some traffic.  And speaking of Pinup Lifestyle, very soon you will begin seeing more and more activity showing a more close working relationship between us.  I've had a number of conversations now with Desiree and Edson and there's a lot of shared philosophy and approach and a mutual respect and trust that this all makes a lot of sense.  With that I'd also encourage all of us to support the site as much as possible as it is a fantastic rally point and some of the networking we're doing does have some implications / possible headache for them as it could seem to be a bit of an endorsement on their part and they do have other publications who are advertisers and well, there's potential headache in that mix.

Holiday Gift Giving Season
With No.3 landing in October and being the last issue of the year it will be itself a great gift item so where we can think in terms of our fan base making purchases we might find some think it positively a great, inexpensive gift for a family member or friend.  We may find this a fantastic opportunity to also offer sets of the first 3 issues combined, subscriptions as gifts and possibly package some calendars by those of you producing them this year.

Exclusive Content / No.3 Cover-Feature
Most of you are well aware I don't ask for exclusive content.  I think given the nature of trying to build this and the rewards so far being different than most magazines it would be kinda rude to ask that.  But some things have come together for No.3 that are exciting because it is exclusive content, past exclusive actually shot FOR Retro Lovely.  It's time here to note that No.3 will feature a cover by Roy Varga of Gia Genevieve and photos from a shoot they shot for the issue.  We've chatted on this and the content will remain pretty controlled up until we get the issue out as we do want to promote these elements. Additionally Stephan Crabe from the New Jersey area showed up with a very cool set perfect for Halloween which has quite a few noteworthy aspects about it....  First with the theme it was a shoot executed for Retro Lovely, it is content that will also be really controlled / exclusive until the issue hits.  The subject of the shoot, Juliya Chernetsky, has some celebrity as well....  Juliya is best known for her work on Fuse TV hosting such heavy metal themed shows as Uranium, Metal Asylum, Let It Rock and Slave to the Metal. She provided us this blurb: "I had an amazing time shooting with my photographer Stephanie for Retro Lovely.  Not only did I get to represent the pin up style and culture that I adore, but we got to be creative, and experiment with really fun sets, and explore the "darker" side of beauty.  I cannot wait to see the results, and Happy Halloween!"  Now I am not certain if or how we might network this further with Juliya but we may well get some more mileage / publicity out of this.  The set was also shot at a damn cool NY area Halloween attraction which we will also be listing / promoting, again here there's a possible opportunity that I will explore.

The Taboo Angle
A few parties have sent me some Taboo content.  Robert Alvarado, I haven't been able to get back to you but man... some great work you uploaded recently, Angela Ryan on the bike is killer. Many of you know the situation with Taboo, I'm out of money so those taking part are pitching in there... but, we're over 50 copies in sales and soon a real promotional push will begin to kick that up and my goal is to sell a ton more prior to printing so that the money part goes away or becomes near trivial.  With Taboo there's actually a few models that up until this point have NOT done any nude work but ARE for and somewhat because of the Taboo Edition.  This will be promoted heavily.  Now the real angle I'm figuring here with Taboo is that I am hoping we also have this one in October.  We may well be able to really do well by promoting people signing on for Taboo and No.3 at the same time to save some significant shipping money... 1 of either will run $4.75 to ship, both can go for that same amount.  It's a natural that we'll end up with a number of people simply having to have both copies and that shipping part is a nice discount.

I know I'll think of more once I send this off.

But it's long already

Excuse as usual poor grammar or typos on my part, I think, I type, I quick spell check and hit send.....
