"Women of the Ridge: Handling the Business and Politics of West Michigan Agriculture"
7:00pm, TOMORROW, March 22nd, 2012
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
Free & Open to the Public
Reception following

by Cindy Laug, Grand Valley State University
Women in agriculture were often an untapped resource before the twenty years of the Apple Smorgasbord, but they became "fearsome" in 1972 when they stepped away from their kitchens and orchards to support family farms in a very different and political way. With the organization of Women for the Survival of Agriculture in Michigan, celebrating its 40th anniversary, women moved to center-stage.
Meet some of the players tomorrow as we celebrate 100 years of women in agriculture in West Michigan! We will have exhibit materials in the foyer. Come early and stay late for talk during the reception!
