Greetings!
The New Year brought a flurry of activity and interest in the museum from around the world. A short documentary about The Mini Time Machine produced by Biography last spring began airing on 200 television and cable networks on January 21. The response has been wonderful and we feel more connected than ever to miniature enthusiasts everywhere.
We're thrilled to report that a new NAME column this month, "Tips and Tricks", will become a permanent addition to The Mini Times. NAME's signature philosophy that "Only through sharing can we really enjoy our treasures!" is a gift they continually deliver upon to all who are interested in miniatures. Registration opens tomorrow for the 40th NAME convention to be held this year in Charlotte, NC - an event not to be missed!
Our first ever fundraising gala, Vegrandis (Latin for tiny or diminutive), held last Friday evening, was a grand success and we are grateful to our supporters and well wishers near and far, for the good will and joy you have brought to our work. We're looking forward to an extraordinary 2012 and are grateful to have you along for the ride. Best wishes for a splendid new year!
Sincerely,
Nina Daldrup
Executive Director, The Mini Time Machine Museum

Sustaining our Future: Gifts of Appreciated Securities

When you give appreciated securities or stock to the museum, you may deduct the full value of the stock, not just the amount you paid for it. By donating stock, you do not have to pay tax on capital gains that you might otherwise owe if you sold the stock.
Your donation of appreciated securities may be deducted in amounts of up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income, and you can use any excess deductions to reduce your taxes in as many as five future tax years.
Stocks often appreciate in election years, and by planning now to review your portfolio mid-year, you may be in a position to benefit the museum and reduce your tax obligations at year-end.
Thank you!
