WOW! You all certainly know how to be the church! We had SO MANY people from West working last Sat. at the Bash! Then - wow - your response on Sunday was inspiring because I KNOW you all are so passionate about sharing the love of Christ with all people . . . . even through haircuts and tennis shoes! I've said it before - but I'll say it again . . . it is a TRUE HONOR to be your pastor!
Thurs. & Fri. I'm @ the Leadership Summit. That always makes my wheels turn!!!
As I write this I have 15 pages of notes and I'm only through 1 day!
One of the speakers was Cory A. Booker, the mayor of Newark, NJ! Talk about someone who KNOWS how to get it done, despite the most adverse circumstances.
His phrase of the day was, "Just DO something!"
My wheels started turning . . . and I am probably a good 1/2 through our sermon for West's Birthday on Sept. 11.
That is going to be a special day as we celebrate ONE YEAR of being a new faith community and also as we cast the vision for what we believe God is calling us to do the next year! We will look at how we are indeed going to DO SOMETHING!
We will also welcome Lee Burnette, our new Dir. of Worship & Ministries, on that day!
Lee is a phenomenal leader in many areas. I believe he brings many gifts in which we will work together to change lives and change the world! I can't wait for you to meet him!
