We have been able to plan a "Hurricane Irene Relief Trip" through
UMCOR - United Methodist Commission on Relief.
ANYONE can go on this trip, you do not have to be Disaster Response Trained.
There will be two trips to choose from:
1. Leaves Wed., Sept. 14 and returns either Sat., Sept. 17 or Sun, Sept. 18. Led by Ken Young
2. Leaves Wed., Sept. 21 and returns Sat, Sept. 24. Led by Andrea Smith.
Both trips will go to the Manteo area. We will stay in a United Methodist Church in Wanchese, NC and will primarily be gutting houses and cleaning up debris.
Sleeping will be on air mattresses in the church (you need to provide your own) and food will be provided by each team.
Cost: $50 - covers gas, food, work site materials.
