 Dear Friends of Imagine,
Welcome to our first issue of Imagine That. . . We hope this newsletter will help everyone stay informed of what's happening and help us all stay in touch. This newsletter is for everyone served, employed, and connected to Imagine. We will distribute an electronic and hard copy every quarter, so the next edition will be out in January! We definitely want to include your thoughts, suggestions, pictures, and articles. Don't be shy, we'll accept your submissions at any time! Happy reading!

FAMILY CORNER
How do you define success?
 If you google "How do you define success?" you will find
88,500,000 entries. One of them involves being rich; another is being on the top of one's profession. As the parent of Imagine's client, Scott, my definition of success for him is far different. I want him to be happy and surrounded by people who love him. And, guess what! He has achieved "success." What's the definition of success for the people with whom you work or for yourself? Send your definition to leinerp@yahoo.com and perhaps, it will be become an entry in the next issue of "Imagine That..."

IMAGINE CELEBRATIONS & EVENTS
For Halloween, we are being treated to a very special party hosted by David, Ricky, and Russell! They have been planning for months, the decorations are truly amazing, and I know this will be a one of a kind bash!! Please plan to join us on at 917 Pellegrini Drive, Santa Cruz on October 25 from 4pm to 9pm and enjoy some good food and tons of spooky fun!! As always, we will also host a special meal for anyone who wishes to attend on Thanksgiving Day! We are still looking for someone to host this popular event, so please contact Mary at 464-8355 ext. 2 if you'd like to host or help out with food!
This winter, we are planning our annual holiday celebration and cookie decorating party! Keep an eye out for more details on these events!

STAFF CORNER
Imagine Farewells
We will soon be saying goodbye to three people with whom we plan to maintain a long and happy on-going relationship. I'm speaking about our Imagine Coordinator, Tracey Marquart, and Independent Living Skills / Supported Employment team members, Jana DuRon and Angela Gallagher. While it is with heavy hearts that we see them go, it is also an exciting time of new beginning. Tracey's new agency, Community Life Services, initially working under Balance4Kids, will be able to offer a smooth transition and continued services to all current ILS / SE recipients. We very much value Tracey's advocacy for community inclusion and equal opportunities for people in Santa Cruz (and beyond). Jana is a joy to work with and I have appreciated her positive outlook and "doer" personality. Angela is fairly new to the team but has already shown that she can connect well with the people she works with and is also someone who can get things done. We wish all of you much success and look forward to watching your new agency grow and thrive.

FALL REMINDERS
Just a quick reminder that this is the time of year to check your furnace to ensure it's in good working order. If you need assistance, PG&E staff are willing to come to your home and make sure your pilot light is on and working properly. Give them a call at 1-800-PGE-5000.
Daylight Savings time ends on November 1st, so make sure to turn back the clock an hour before you go to bed on the 31st of October.

NOVEMBER ALL STAFF MEETING
Imagine's November All Staff Meeting will feature a training on nutrition from Melissa Devera, a nutritionist working for Dominican Hospital. Plan to bring a label from your favorite food item and be prepared with a question for our guest speaker. Please plan to join us on November 11th at 3:30pm.
