If you fried your skin a few times (like most of us have), there is hope. European scientists have conducted tests with Coenzyme Q10. After just 15 minutes of exposure to bright sunlight, your skin's CoQ10 levels start dropping. Apparently CoQ10 significantly increases hyaluronic acid in artificially aged human cells. Taking 50mg of Coenzyme Q10 30 minutes before sun exposure will dramatically decrease the free radical damage caused by UVA and UVB exposure. In petre dish skin cultures, CoQ10 was protective against DNA damage, as well. UV exposure is inevitable, unless you live in a cave, but it's good to know there is an antioxidant that can target UVA damage internally and externally.
