Michael at WorkGreetings!

Welcome to our Summer 2011 Newsletter.  We may dream of beach time, but summer is quite busy here at PWP.  We are  working with some favorite clients with whom we have not worked in  some time, as well as finishing up ongoing projects. Enjoy our exploits, and remember, if you ever need assistance with any project, we are here for you!

Joining Back Up With CHOP

PWP is excited to again be working with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  A favorite client, we were glad when they called with a new project.  We will be creating a series of 5 web videos to assist patients with chronic conditions in the transition from pediatric to adult care. In addition to the importance of the subject matter, PWP is also inspired by the style choices that are being made for these videos. While people will be interviewed in front of a specifically designed backdrop, all of the B-roll for the videos will be hand drawn by a local artist.  This is the first time that PWP has used this technique in one of its videos and we look forward to sharing the finished product with you in our next newsletter.

Working With Our Neighbors

As most of you know, PWP is located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.  It has been the hope of our company for a long time to draw more clients from our very own neighborhood, and we can now report success on this front.  We completed a Campaign Launch Video for The Green Tree School, and are in the process of developing an educational pilot project with Cliveden of the National Trust. And in addition, our own Dave Lamm took still photographs of the new Executive Director of Historic Germantown (see below) to be used in the announcement of Barbara Hogue's acceptance of this newly created position.

The 5th of July

On the 5th of July, Michael Schweisheimer and Debbie Arnold Brown will be leading a newly created two-hour workshop for Philly NetSquared.  Philly NetSquared is a group of professionals who meet monthly to discuss and implement using the social web for social good. The workshop, entitled Video For Social Media, focuses on how video can be used for many different purposes across social networks, including: Fundraising/Friend-Raising, Community Advocacy, Event Videos, and Promotional/Brand Awareness. They will look at organizations that are already effectively using video, and they will discuss different approaches to the challenges involved in video production. Those of you in the Philly area who are interested in attending the workshop or just finding out more information should click here.
Abby's Summer "Vacation"

Our very own Production Coordinator, Abby Lyn Rogers will be spending part of her summer on loan to the network TV program It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Abby will be Coordinating for Always Sunny and while we will miss her short-term, in the long-term we are just too proud of her getting such a cool gig to stand in her way.
An Award Winner & More

We are very happy to announce that PWP's video for the ACHIEVEability Gala has received a Bronze Telly Award in the category of Charitable/Not-for-Profit Videos. Not only are we proud of our award, we are also proud of the impact the video has had. According to Ashley Tobin, of Work Better Consulting on behalf of ACHIEVEability: "The video you created for ACHIEVEability continues to have a profound effect on the agency. Just the other day a volunteer from one of the top consulting firms in the country told us he watched the video before he came to volunteer. He said it locked him in as a believer in the agency and he committed to designating ACHIEVEability as the beneficiary of his workplace giving."

PWP's Debbie Arnold Brown volunteered her considerable still photography skills at the Philadelphia International Arts Festival this April.  Debbie photographed for the group Taller Puertorriqueño,  and we at PWP are so glad that Debbie could give back to the City and the Arts Community.
