| Primitive World Productions Newsletter | Video with a Mission Fall 2010 | |
Greetings!
The summer brought a myriad of projects and new ideas to PWP. As we continue to pursue both Video with a Mission and our more corporate side, we have found a good balance and synchonicity between the two. We are very excited about our new VSM program and many other of our evolving projects. In fact, there is so much to share that we can't keep you as updated as we'd like with just a quarterly newsletter. Please consider fanning us on Facebook for more regular updates.
So far, being 10 has been great and we hope that beginning our 11th year will be even better!
-- Michael Schweisheimer, Founder, PWP

VSM - Video for Social Media
PWP is very excited about it's latest program to assist organizations in creating video assets for Social Media use. Video for Social Media (VSM) is a program where PWP staff members help evaluate where video could and should fit into your Social Media strategy. Then we help our clients decide if they have the internal resources (read: staff time) to produce some of these assets on their own or if they would prefer to take advantage of specially priced packages organized by the types of videos that work best for Social Media. If internal staff time is available, PWP recommends gear (including cameras, audio equipment, lighting, etc.) and editing software and then we teach an organization how to use them. We also teach how to find and mine stories that might otherwise be missed . We also teach how these newly created video assets are used and posted to Social Media sites (such as YouTube) and their own websites for the greatest impact and viewership. While not a substitute for using PWP's professional video crew for more involved events and campaigns, it is a way for our clients, new and old, to learn what they can capture themselves and when they should be on the phone to us! For more information on our VSM program, please contact Producer Debbie Arnold Brown. Also fan us on Facebook for more VSM updates and articles! |
Many members of the PWP staff have been hard at work redesigning our website. As a friend of PWP's calls it, this was a "high class problem" - too much information and too many interesting clients have made our site complicated to navigate. Using information and inspiration from many other websites that we admire, our redesign has gone surprisingly smoothly, and should be live any day now. Visitors, new and old, to the new PWP website, will find it much more streamline and straightforward.

New and Exciting
PWP is very excited to be working with the Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation on a series of videos to be used in and out of their EARN Centers. The series of videos is a perfect example of leveraging your video assets , as discussed in Debbie Arnold Brown's article by the same name. By planning ahead, PWDC will end up with 3 distinct products from just five days of shooting; a series of four success story videos for web and social media deployment, a two part orientation video for use at the EARN Centers, and a video tool for their Job Developers. And this library of footage can be further leveraged over time.
