There will be over 50 booths of tastings of favorite recipes from local congregations, businesses & organizations.  Some Other Place, Beaumont's faith-based mission, is the place people turn to for Emergency Services in times of need and for on-going programs which provide assistance at no charge to the recipient.  All proceeds for this annual event will benefit the work of Some Other Place.

The theme of our booth this year is "One World", and we would love to have your ideas for a simple, eye-catching, message-promoting booth.  

As in years past, Unity of Southeast Texas will provides samples of pasta salad.  If you are interested in having lots of fun decorating the booth,  preparing pasta salad, setting-up and/or serving our food, please contact Dave Henderson: dhenderson4@gt.rr.com or 409-351-1325.  

Unity of Southeast Texas will join Silent Unity and spiritual communities worldwide Thursday, Sept. 13, for the 19th annual Unity World Day of Prayer. The theme is The Universe Is Calling, drawn from the classic book by the late Rev. Eric Butterworth.

Unity World Day of Prayer unites people of all faiths in prayer for the well-being of one another and our world. "Together we have an opportunity to make a positive difference to foster healing and wholeness through prayer," said Rev. Sondra von Gyllenband.

We will be hosting a prayer vigil on this day from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., followed by a service from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.  The public is invited to drop by and join us.  There will be candles, meditative music, inspirational reading matter, and writing material.

Some Other Place provides canned goods and dried foods

for families, and we are participating

in their ongoing Food Pantry drive.
