Unity World Day of Prayer

Unity World Day of Prayer
Thursday, September 8, 2011
Unity created World Day of Prayer - the second Thursday in September - as a global effort to uplift our world in shared prayer consciousness. Since its inception 18 years ago, this sacred initiative has supported more than 15 million people with prayer.
You can be part of this sacred day - from wherever you are - in several ways:
· Fill out and return your Prayer List (which will available soon at your church) with the names of those you would like us to bless during a 24-hour prayer vigil in the Silent Unity Chapel on September 8.
· Experience the dynamic and vibrant flow of open minds and hearts by joining with thousands of others in prayer on September 8. Join us in affirming throughout the day: We are channels through which Spirit illumines the world.
· Attend an event at Unity Village, watch a live-streamed event and/or find a participating Unity church or center near you.

Going Green & Growing Greener

Thanks to our Green Team
we now offer environmental tips
in our weekly announcements and newsletters.
10 UNEXPECTED CLEANERS continued
GLYCERIN - Use it to: Remove dried wax drippings from candlesticks. Peel off as much wax as possible, then moisten a cotton ball with glycerin and rub until clean.
CLUB SODA - Use it to: Shine up a scuffed stainless-steel sink. Buff with a cloth dampened with club soda, then wipe dry with another clean cloth.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE - Use it to: Disinfect a keyboard. Dip a cotton swab in hydrogen peroxide to get into those nooks and crannies.
CORNSTARCH - Use it to: Clean grease spills on carpets. Pour cornstarch onto spots and let sit for 15 to 30 minutes before vacuuming. RUBBING ALCOHOL - Use it to: Erase permanent-marker stains from finished wood floors or solid-surface countertops. Pour rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball and apply.
Plus these additions, thanks to Congregant Cissie Owen:
Dry Rice--pack wet cell phone it in to dry it out
Colgate Toothpaste--clean silver with it
Tea Bags--put wet ones over eyes to take our swelling; or put on toothache/absess to reduce swelling and pain

Silent Unity Prayer Service
| |
Wednesdays 11:30-Noon
Along with Unity churches and centers around the globe, we hold a 30-minute Silent Unity Prayer Service each week, using that month's script from Unity Village.
Around the circle we participate in repetitions of the Silence, affirmation, words for thought, the Silence - as in the following sampling of July's service.

I am calm and serene
I allow a deep cleansing breath to bring my awareness to this moment. As I become still, I remember that I am one with God. I choose to release any anxious thoughts and let a calm peace wash over my soul. I am serene as I let go and relax into God's goodness. I am nourished by God's ever-present love in the silence ....
Spirit inspires my decisions ... etcetera
The energy of God revitalizes me ... etcetera
I live in an abundant universe ... etcetera
My inner peace contributes to a peaceful world ... etcetera

We'd love to have you join us for this mid-week spiritual refresher.
