Dear Unity friends, Up to this time, despite the many spring storms in the south and southeastern parts of our country, none of our Unity ministries have sustained damage. That changed this past Sunday when an F4 tornado desolated Joplin, Missouri. We have been praying with the people of Joplin and the Unity Church of Joplin's congregation. All the members are safe but at least three lost their homes in the tornado. The church building was destroyed. The Joplin community has been given a temporary meeting room at the Wichita Technical Institute until they are once again established. They will be meeting this Sunday at 11 a.m. A member of the church mentioned, "It will take more than a tornado to hold Unity of Joplin down." If you wish to make a donation to the Joplin church, please send a check with "Joplin church" written on the memo line to Unity Worldwide Ministries, PO Box 610, Lees Summit, MO 64063; attn: Myra Moore. If you wish to donate by credit card, call Myra at 816.434.6813 or email her at myra@unity.org. In the grace of Spirit, Unity Worldwide Ministries

Don't ever question the value of volunteers.

Celebrating
Our Volunteers
This Sunday Evening, May 29
from 5:00 p.m.
at Rev. Sondra's home
8250 Shiloh Dr. BMT 77706
Just about all of you have volunteered in one way or another over the past three or more years, so come on over for swimming, eating, and general chilling.
Even those of you who haven't yet had the opportunity to do any volunteer service work around the church are certainly welcome to join us ... as a pay-it-forward kind of thing.
You are all appreciated.
Volunteers are love in motion.

Memorial Day
|
Monday, May 30 MEMORIAL DAY Memorial Day originated in 1868, when Union General John A. Logan designated a day in which the graves of Civil War soldiers would be decorated. Known as Decoration Day, the holiday was changed to Memorial Day within twenty years, becoming a holiday dedicated to the memory of all war dead. It became a federal holiday in 1971, and is now observed on the last Monday in May. Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives, those who are still missing, and those who are still serving. This day we hold in prayer all those affected by war - both within and without ... past, present or future ... with wounds both visible and invisible. The church office will be closed in respect and honor of all of you. |

This is a great musical service hosted by Jason & deMarco.
The Service begins at 7:30 so we need to leave (our church) by 5 at the latest. Galleria traffic can be a booger on Friday evening."

Silent Unity Prayer Service
| |

Along with Unity churches and centers around the globe, we hold a 30-minute Silent Unity Prayer Service each week, using that month's script from Unity Village.
Around the circle we participate in repetitions of the Silence, affirmation, words for thought, the Silence - as in the following sampling of May's service.
In the sanctuary of my heart, I feel the peace and love of God.
Pure love is everywhere present and at the very center of my being. As the light of Spirit moves in and through me, it infuses every area of my being with vitality, wisdom, strength and love. I share this light with others through my thoughts, words and actions. With peace in my heart, peace prevails in my world. I embrace peace now, in the Silence ...
With Divine Spirit as my guide, I make wise choices ... etcetera
I am vibrantly alive and healthy ... etcetera
I am immersed in abundant life ... etcetera
I am a peacemaker, contributing to a peaceful world ... etcetera

We close with the Prayer for Protection.
