Surgical AI Procedures Uncover Uteri Abnormalities

We are very thankful this Thanksgiving for many things of course; our wonderful clients, the beautiful dogs we see each and every day, family, friends, and a multitude of many other positive forces. But this season we are especially thankful for the discoveries made possible by surgical artificial inseminations. By sending our fresh and frozen semen clients in for surgical AIs, we, along with our clients, gather a windfall of information about their bitches reproductive abilities. A bitch may have normal progesterone rises and no symptoms, therefore making these findings during surgery all the more crucial to the vets and clients. With these discoveries, we have been able to assist in getting bitches with abnormal uteri pregnant. One bitch with only one horn whelped two pups, and yet another bitch, with a severely compromised horn (see picture above), had a litter of two as well. Sometimes the discovery of dysfunctional uteri is enough for a weary owner who has spent years trying to get a bitch pregnant to no avail.
