Razor's Edge, a well-respected breeder of American Bully Dogs, has used our Frozen Semen Services to bring countless litters into the world.  We assisted them by collecting, freezing, and storing semen at our facility, and our recent collaborations resulted in two litters; first with 14 pups and second with 7!

And we have plenty more on the horizon....

One of our Rhodesian Ridgeback clients discovered via ultrasound that their bitch is pregnant with 7-8 puppies.  A Flat Coated Retreiver client also has a bitch that is pregnant with a hearty litter from semen stored at our cryobiology repository.

Notes from our Laboratory

Years ago, a breeder and  I  looked at semen on the computer monitor.

I counted only 8 sperm moving on the screen.  This was not a good thaw.  There was no back up stud in this scenario so we inseminated the poor quality semen.

And the bitch had 8 pups. 

In Theriogenolgy 1995 Sep:44(4):571-9 in  "Comparisons between three different extenders for Canine intrauterine insemination with  frozen-thawed Spermatozoa,"

Dr. Verstegen wrote: "This study demonstrated that post-thaw assessment of sperm characteristics is not the best technique for evalutating sperm fertility after freezing or for assessing different semen extenders."

I know that to be true from experience...but everyone involved feels much more optimistic when the sperm are frantically scurrying all over the screen!

Breeder Protects his Frenchies with Fresh Frozen Plasma  

 Tyler Nguyen of SDBullies, of Southern California has been breeding French Bulldogs for eight years.
