Cooled Semen Connections in Mexico

Labrador A long-distance "love story" reminiscent of Hollywood cinema....

Brazilian beauty, Wendy never met Canadian-born Labradale's Coffee Crisp, yet through cooled semen technology, these two Labradors produced a handsome litter of beefy chocolate puppies.  Not long ago, at our San Marcos, CA laboratory, Jorge Amezquita brought in Wendy from Brazil for a trans-cervical insemination with Coffee Crisp's semen.  Months later, Jorge flew from Brazil into Tijuana, Mexico with another bitch, Esteem.  He then drove up to our clinic for cooled semen inseminations before returning home. Later, he wrote to announce that he "received three beautiful males in chocolate with good health and very huge."  Most recently, due to Mexicana Airlines cutting flights from Mexico City to Tijuana, we aided Jorge again in an international mission by arranging semen shipment from the US into Mexico for an artificial insemination.

Thank you, Jorge, and all of our international clients; we appreciate your ongoing patronage and trust in our company.

Important Tips in Dealing
with Foreign Semen Importers:

When contacted by foreign breeders to provide frozen semen, remember to ask for import permit details before agreeing on stud fees, etc. You may be very inconvenienced by collection appointments, various vet certificates and laboratory tests; and so I always suggest adding on a non-refundable fee to compensate you for your time.

Here is a rather dated but helpful link to research the necessary requirements for shipping.

If you are concerned about which bitch will be inseminated, make certain of your understanding of the country's Kennel Club rules. Some foreign kennel clubs allow the resale of the frozen semen.

Frozen semenAnd most importantly, always remember:

Dealing with the regulations of international shipping and customs, duties and agriculture departments can be very unnerving. However, when the pups whelp, all the problems are forgotten. After all, international breedings are celebratory in that these breeding combinations may become the savior of genetic diversity for several breeds. Rare breeds will now have access to individuals all over the world!

Sperm 1
Answer: Just looking at the sperm cannot tell you if there is enough sperm to get your bitch pregnant.  That is why every cooled semen shipment processed at Canine Cryobank has a complete semen evaluation and sperm count sent with your stud's cooled semen.
