Yesterday night while walking through one of the new ritzy health-conscious grocery stores sprouting up on every corner, I was astonished to find soy in almost every product.  The bean-based substance, which I happen to be deathly allergic to, was in everything from cheese and yogurt, to gelato and potato chips! 
 
 I would have even more to lament if I was a male dog trying to get a bitch pregnant.  According to the medical journal Human Reproduction, soy contains isoflavones, a chemical that is linked to animal infertility.  So if your stud simply is not producing, and seems otherwise healthy, check the ingredients of his dog food to rule out soy consumption.

Why Inbreeding is Out!
The Negative Effects on Reproduction 
Researchers have concluded that inbreeding causes infertility, among many other reproductive and developmental problems.  Inbreeding, or mating  closely related animals to maintain homozygous traits, can cause juvenile mortality, perinatal mortality, and injurous effects on sperm development and ovulation (Spearow, 1988; Lewontin, 1974; Frankel and Soule', 1981).  Inbred male dogs also show trends of low sperm volume and poor reproductive performance (Wildt et al., 1992a; Olson et al., 1992). 
 
Studies show that oxidants impose stress on developing sperm. (j. Clin. Invest. doi:10.1172/JC139688).  Ester-C adds vitality to the sperm by combating oxidative stress on spermatozoa.  We always remarked how  progressive motility improved after only one day on Ester-C.  Now we know why!
