Greetings!  


I hope your summer is off to a fabulous start, and you are enjoying delightful weather and long, delicious days.  Little Matthew is now six months old and has already started his world travels.  We went on our first plane ride together recently on a trip to Washington state to introduce him to Steve's side of  the family.   Here's our cutie-pie Matthew with his four year old niece, our adorable granddaughter Karysma.

I feel so blessed and appreciative to have manifested so many of my dreams, and I'd like to help more people reach their dreams and have more love and joy in their lives.

"Dr. Wendy,

What are some of the common beliefs that impede us in our relationships?"

 

Previously, we talked about the common, debilitating belief: I'm not good enough. When we believe we're not okay the way we are, we beat ourselves up, push ourselves to be different and feel discouraged and unhappy.

 

Another common impeding belief that we looked at is: I can't have what I really want, so I should just settle for what I can get - in a romantic relationship, in a job or both. This is a popular belief, and many of us give up and feel resigned to our lot in life. We think we need to accept whatever relationships show up, and we are afraid to take risks and try something new. Most of us don't even stop to ask what we really want.

 

A third common and debilitating belief that we considered last time is: Relationships are dangerous and can hurt me. Maybe I was hurt, disappointed or rejected before, so I believe I'll be hurt, disappointed or rejected again. If I believe relationships are dangerous and scary, I'll avoid getting too close to anyone.

 

A fourth impeding belief is Relationships will take care of themselves and don't need my attention. If I believe my relationships will take care of themselves, I will focus my attention on the things I think are more important like work, money or my hobbies. I'll be too busy to pay much attention to how I relate with the people in my life.

 

Stay in touch to learn about the other damaging beliefs that can destroy your relationships.  The good news is...these beliefs can be eliminated!  If you'd like to know how to shift these debilitating beliefs to helpful beliefs that will support you in all your relationships, please stay tuned.  Feel free to contact me if you'd like your beliefs to work for you instead of against you, and you're ready to be living a life you love with all the love you want in your life.
