Women in Business: Networking opportunities in Marin and Sonoma counties! I'm the speaker on February 11th.

Greetings!
I hope you are happy and well and enjoying 2010 so far. Steve and I had a fabulous time skiing in the snowy mountains and visiting with friends and family in Truckee and Davis. Last weekend our expeditions included a hike to the top of Mt. Burdell, and this weekend we're looking forward to a waterfall hike and a benefit concert for an Amazon river village (No, we're not going to this stunning Big Sur waterfall but it is one of my favorite places).  I've been touched by the outpouring of kindness for the people of Haiti and it reminds me of the goodness of the human spirit. My hope is that you and others on our planet can remember that spirit during "ordinary" times. I hope you are enjoying peace and prosperity in your life, and are able to take care of yourself and give to others.
According to my calendar, this is the month of love, so it is a great time to be cultivating loving kindness towards all beings, and specifically a mindset for love for you. I've written a short article on that topic below. Cultivate Your Mindset for Love! Part 1
It's February - are you feeling the love? Not that you can't be loving the other months of the year, but it's hard to forget that special holiday coming up...where we are supposed to share cards, roses, chocolates and romantic evenings with our sweethearts.
So, what happens if you don't have that special someone in your life? You can take care of the special someone you will always have in your life - you! And you can start cultivating your mindset for love.
What is a mindset for love and how can you have one? A mindset for love starts with believing you are loving and loveable, and can have the love you desire.
What do many people believe when it comes to love? Here are a few of the comments I've heard over the years. Let's take a look at each one and see if it's true for you:
It's too late for me to have love in my life.
Yes, it's later than it was before but is it really too late? Is there a certain age at which we can no longer love each other? Or does our capacity for love actually grow as we age? Even if you have a terminal illness, your ability to love and be loved may actually expand, not contract. If you are reading this, it's not too late for you to have love in your life.
There's no one out there for me to love.
Yes, it may seem that way, especially if you are feeling isolated from others. Did you know that today in the United States, there are over 101 million single adults? How many partners are you looking for? Might there be at least one who could be a great match for you? Might it be possible that there is someone wonderful out there for you to love? Meanwhile, might there be people in your life who you can connect with? This could be a good time to cultivate supportive friends, family, community, groups, coaches, therapists and others who can be there for you. And there is always someone special in your life who you can love right now - the person who is reading this!
I need to be different to have love in my life - I'm not loveable the way I am.
Yes, it may seem that if you only changed something about yourself, you might be more loveable. So, what would need to change for you to become loveable? If you had a different weight or income would you be more loveable? Or if you were more accomplished or attractive would that make you more loveable? Does your loveability depend on the car you drive or the clothes you wear? What if you were loveable just the way you are no matter what? What if your loveability was not based on any conditions being met? Would you still need to be different in order to be loveable? If you are loveable just the way you are, what's possible for you?
What if you are truly loveable and deserving of love in your life right now? How could your life be different? And how can you take extra good care of that special someone you do have in your life right now?
