Dear Kadimaniks and friends,As we move from celebrating Pesach, and the liberation from all of our "narrow places," we hope that you have been inspired to take action! In that spirit, we will be forming a Kadima Social Justice Group. Please join us for a first gathering--a Cinco de Mayo potluck dinner for schmoozing and discussion.
We are all too busy, maybe a little bit burnt-out, many of us are involved in a multiplicity of activisms. For some of us it has been a long time since we have been able to get to a political meeting. We are wondering if you, like us, have been craving a forum in which we can reflect and renew our resolve to be active in social justice work. For some of us, this is what brought us to Kadima in the first place. Help us imagine what this space could be. Bring your interests, questions, and commitments.
Here are some of ours. How do we work toward- Sustained work in support of our homeless neighbors?
- Confronting police and judicial injustice in our community?
- Seeking an appropriate response to the rhetoric and potential threat of attacks on Iran?
- Developing and sustaining a progressive Jewish response to the evolving reality of Israeli occupation in Palestine?
- Collective response to critical events that otherwise leave us flat-footed, whether the shooting of John T. Williams or the execution of Troy Davis?
We look forward to starting the conversation and seeing friends current, old and new. Come join us!
