A look inside the Women's Torah Project

Celebrate Oct. 13-17, 2010
Siyyum (completion) celebration dates are set for October 13-17. The first reading from the Women's Torah will be Saturday, October. 16. Wednesday and Thursday, the 62 panels will be sewn together into a Torah. Friday, you can help fill in the final letters of this historic work. Meet the project's scribes and artists, hear them talk about their work apart and together, learn from each other, celebrate. Most events at University of Washington Hillel. Be there!


$12,000 Matching Grant
Two anonymous donors have pledged up to $12,000 to meet our final fundraising challenge. We need $24,000 more to finish the Women's Torah. Any amount you donate, up to $12,000, will be matched. If you've thought about making a major gift to the WTP, now is the time!

Sponsor the Torah Rollers

The atzei chaim (Torah rollers) are the last item to be created for the Women's Torah. A set costs between $800-$1200. Please consider underwriting this last, crucial component. Contact us for more information.


Donors Contribute Fabric for Torah Mantle

Any donor is welcome to send us a small swatch of fabric to honor any woman or girl. Those fabric bits will be crafted into pomegranate seeds to adorn the Women's Torah's mantle, created by artist sooze bloom deLeon grossman. Be sure to include information about the woman or girl you are honoring. That information will become a permanent part of the Women's Torah Project. DEADLINE for submitting fabric is August 1, 2010.


Lecture Series
Kadima is sponsoring a lecture series as a lead up to, and in support of, October's siyyum.  Four amazing women will share their insights and expertise. Most lectures at Kadima House, 12353 8th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125, starting at 7:30 pm. Donation requested, with all proceeds helping to defray costs of this fall's 5-day siyyum.
