Rapid Prototyping and Development

SCOPE: In today's global economy, meeting the challenges of expedited production schedules is paramount to growing one's business by taking advantage of Industry changes.  The 18 month product gestation period is no longer valid or acceptable. ASI has invested in the steps necessary to drastically reduce this lead-time by taking the following actions, resulting in accurate production models and/or prototypes for immediate production approval and launches.

3D CAD Files  
At the completion of the quotation/design cycle, ASI's Sales Team is able to provide 3D CAD Files in various formats allowing the engineer to import the ASI design into their equipment with ease and accuracy.  At this point the engineer is able to confirm fit and performance.

Solid Models 
In an effort to answer questions or to identify unforeseen issues, ASI is able to provide Solid Models (SLA) by creating plastic reproductions of the 3D CAD File.  This truly shows the engineer the "form and fit" of the final production gear drive at a minimal cost and usually within a week to 10 days of the request.     

Machined from Solid
When actual working prototypes are required, ASI has internal departments and external suppliers that are able to produce machined from solid metal housings and covers that meet the performance of production units.  This truly meets the goal of "form/fit/function" at a low cost and short lead-time.   These machined from solid prototypes are fabricated within a 6 to 8 week period.....shorter times may be possible with minor expediting cost. 

 

SLA and Machined from Solid Combinations
In custom designs, where some standard components are used, ASI is able to combine SLA components and Machined from Solid with standard components to give the engineer a true look at the final product.  Again, just form and fit analysis are possible at minimal cost and lead time.  A quick look at design changes or production revisions are also available combining these two options.
