ASI Testing Programs: ASI takes great pride in our products, designs and customer assistance at solving problems. While we ask many questions and try to gather as much information as possible about exact applications.......sometimes we still must rely on our ability to test products to the maximum limits of our understanding of the application. Many of our customers are Entrepreneurs and/or Industry leaders and very protective of the exact application and performance goals of their products. We determine the best method of testing our products for durability and performance by studying past history and other ASI product designs.
Rolling Road Dynamometer: This test was established to determine the Torque Capacity and Axle Load Capacity of transaxles and custom gear drives. The maximum torque capacity is 1,200 in-lbs. and the maximum axle load capacity is 2,000lbs. At the successful conclusion of this test, the housing casting, gears and axle material have been approved at the set load parameters of the application.
Motor Life Testing: ASI has two test methods for motors. The first is a Pnuematic Brake for loading our larger motor sizes, typically 4.80 inches and larger. The second is an Induction Brake for loading on our smaller motor sizes, typically 4.00 inches and smaller.

Fully Computerized Performance Testing: ASI offers a complete computer aided test analysis for measuring Speed-Torque performance of motors and motor gearboxes up to 20Nm. Along with performance testing we include Life Testing for monitoring and data logging of: Voltage, Current, Speed, Torque and Temperature at key locations within the motor and/or gearbox.
"End of Line" Testing: ASI has the ability to conduct full product testing at the end of each assembly cell. The degree of end of line testing is discussed with the customer during the quotation and development phase of the motor and/or gearbox. Typical end of line testing, with appropriate visual aids and computer logging, will measure the following: Loaded current and speed, Continuity of Harness, Motor Direction, Brake Activation, Axle Rotation, Noise, Lubrication Leak and Assembly Hardware.
Application Testing: It is critical that ASI Customers conduct application testing in their facility or through 3rd Party testing. Only the customer has the full understanding of how their product is going to be used and is intended to be used. Therefore, the customer must be the final qualification test for the ASI product delivered to them for each specific application. ASI will share and cooperate fully to give our "history" and "expertise" on how our products will work in conjunction with the customer's specifications. |
